Vol. 6 des Sam Rivers Archive Project ist gerade gelandet. Das Orlando Trio mit Doug Mathews (elb, b, bcl) und Anthony Cole (d, ts, p), aufgenommen relativ spät, im März 2002 in New Orlean (das Trio bestand von 1993 bis 2006 und ist Rivers langlebigste Formation überhaupt). Mag sein, dass das die missverstandenste Band von River ist – bin vom ersten Eindruck her ziemlich begeistert!
