Von Woody Shaw hab ich grad was oben auf dem Geri Allen-Stapel – spannende Band mit Roy Brooks und Robert Hurst, live aus der Baker’s Keyboard Lounge in Detroit am 26. und 27. Februar 1986. Und los geht es passend direkt mit dem Titelstück von Monk, von dem später noch „Well You Needn’t“ und „Nutty“ zu hören sind. Von Shaw gibt es „Ginseng People“ und „In a Capricornian Way“, von Allen „Eric“, von Wyne Shorter „United“ und dann am Ende den Standard „Star Eyes“ und als Closer Roy Brooks‘ „Theloniously Speaking“.
