Ketil Bjornstad – La notte | So, noch 14 oder 15 Alben vor mir – dieses und das zweite von Lechner/Couturier (das erste läuft in der New Series und liegt hier schon ein oder zwei Jahre) kamen heute, zusammen mit ein paar New Series-Alben aus der jüngsten Zeit. Hier handelt es sich um einen Mitschnitt vom Juli 2010 beim Molde Jazz Festival. Ein Sextett mit Andy Sheppard (ts/ss), Anja Lechner (vc), Eivind Aarset (g/elec), Arild Andersen (b), Marilyn Mazur (perc/d) sowie dem Leader am Klavier spielt ein 55minütiges, von Michelangelo Antonio inspiriertes Set – so scheint es zumindest, es gibt keine Liner Notes und keine weiteren Infos, aber Tyran Grillo schreibt: „The result of a Molde International Jazz Festival commission and recorded live in 2010, Bjørnstad’s eight-part suite is a self-styled “soundtrack to an inner film.” It’s also his most sublime creation to date.“
