Charles Lloyd – Canto | Das letzte Album von Charles Lloyd mit Bobo Stenson (und Anders Jormin, Billy Hart) … und bis dahin für meine Ohren wohl sein bestes Album. Wie gestern erwähnt, sortiere ich „Hyperion with Higgins“ auf derselben Stufe ein, und ich denke ein paar spätere auch („Rabo de Nube“ habe ich als exzellent abgelegt, ebenso „Jumpin‘ the Creek“, auch „Lift Every Voice“ scheint dazuzugehören, aber das kenne ich noch kaum).

PS: aber manchmal ist’s schon creepy … „How Can I Tell You“ ist eine nahezu perfekte Repro von Coltrane, „Easy to Remember“ auf „Ballads“, oder?
