Jimmy Ponder ‎– Jump
im Grunde genau die gleiche Band, nur Jimmy Ponder statt Ed Cherry, Jimmy Anderson statt Dave Hubbard und einen Rhythmusgitarristen gibt es auch noch… aber ist halt nicht von einem japanischen Blue Note Fan produziert… entsprechend klingt alles ein bisschen „urbaner“, minimal mehr wie etwas, was ca 1990 in einer Hotellobby im Hintergrund haette laufen koennen, das Cover ist was es ist, und das Repertoire besteht aus Eigenkompositionen, Great American Songbook und Stormy Monday…

Das ist eine meiner wenigen Patton-Lücken. „This One’s for J.A.“ finde ich auch sehr toll – neben „Minor Swing“ wohl mein liebstes von den vier späten als Leader. Aber die sind ja alle gut.
