Mitte Februar 2013 ist – wieder einmal medial unbemerkt – eine neue Wainwright-Live-CD veröffentlicht worden, die einen Radio-Mitschnitt aus dem Jahr 1990 dokumentiert:

„Happy-go-lucky singer/songwriter Loudon Wainwright’s prolific output would stretch to include over 20 different albums over many decades, all with his bittersweet style incorporating both sadness and goofball humor. Live at the Cactus Cafe is a document of a 1990 concert recorded at Austin, Texas‘ collegiate Cactus Cafe rock and folk club. While Wainwright trots out his better-known numbers like the silly „Dead Skunk“ or „Unrequited to the Nth Degree,“ much of the 15-song set list is made up of compositions that were unreleased at the time, including „Jesse Don’t Like It,“ which wouldn’t make an official studio appearance until his Social Studies album a full nine years later.“

P.S.: Zum oben erwähnten Thema Trapp-Familie gab es vor Kurzem eine ähnliche Wortmeldung.

„When asked if they agreed with Jimmy Fallon, who makes an appearance in the doc and compares their family to the von Trapps, Rufus said, „Well, we’re certainly all very good-looking. I think we were a little less square. A little more Irish von Trapp — there was no Von, it was just Trapp.“ Also, Martha said, „We look good in Lederhosen.“ And not to be outdone, Rufus agreed thusly: „Yeah! We have nice asses.““
