Album: Everybody digs Bill EvansFür mich eine ganz tolle Aufnahme dieses alten Cole Porter-Schlachtrosses mit Philly Joe Jones Eröffnung an den Drums.
Genau so!
Habe bei dem Track das Gefühl, daß sich der wahnsinnige Beat von Philly Joe Jones sehr stark auf Bill Evans übertragen hat. Kenne jedenfalls keine Aufnahme von Bill Evans, bei der er frenetischer das Piano bearbeitet.
Absolut! Philly Joe war ja wie es scheint (weiss grad nicht, was dafür die Quelle ist, aber ich vermute belastbar) der Lieblingsdrummer von Evans gewesen zu sein … was dem späteren Bild des ätherischen Pianisten ziemlich widerspricht.
