Bernard „Pretty“ Purdie „Song for Aretha“ (Flying Dutchman) 1971 ….
Bernard Purdie hat nicht nur mit / für James Brown gespielt, sondern auch jahrelang für Aretha Franklin und ist der drummer bei King Curtis‘ Kingpins, die mit Aretha auf den Live-Aufnahmen im Fillmore West spielen. Auch Nina Simone, B.B. King und Steely Dan (!) tauchen in seinem Portofolio auf. Hut ab. 
Die Gesamtausgabe von Aretha und King Curtis At The Fillmore ist tatsächlich eine schöne Sache, zumal man damit quasi zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe erschlägt. In physischer Form ist das aber mit Preisen im 3-stelligen Bereich aktuell unerschwinglich.
