Natürlich ist „In Rock“ das beste Purple-Album. „Machine head“? Natürlich sehr gut. Aber in dieser Glaubensfrage geht es um „Speed King“ gegen „Never before“ oder um „Child in time“ gegen „Smoke on the water“. Und das mal ganz unabhängig von der Produktion, wobei ich auch da „In Rock“ bevorzugen würde. „Machine Head“ klingt da im Vergleich recht glattgebügelt, hat aber natürlich mit „Highway Star“ oder „Lazy“ seine Höhepunkte.
