Okay, das ist jetzt interessant. Bin jetzt doch mal neugierig gewesen und habe auf der Webseite von Mosaic gesucht. Dort steht dieser Hinweis:
Why Limited Editions?
Mosaic does not own Pacific Jazz, Atlantic, Columbia, RCA, Blue Note, Verve or any other catalog product. With the exception of our Benedetti/Parker set, we lease all of our recordings from other record companies. The leases vary in detail, but in every case there’s a cap on either the number of units we are allowed to manufacture or the number of years we’re allowed to offer the set for sale. Therefore once the set has sold out, it will not be made available again.
Unter anderem wird in der langen Liste nicht mehr verfügbarer Boxen auch die Desmond Box aufgeführt. Aber wieso kann ich diese Box dann digital kaufen? Wieso kann Doxy das machen, Mosaic aber nicht? Das riecht komisch, wenn du mich fragst. Vielleicht sollte ich in Zukunft doch auf diese ominösen Anbieter verzichten. Zu finden sind sie allerdings in etlichen Download-Shops, v.a. Google Play und Amazon. Vieles wird auch bei Spotify gestreamt.
