Kam gerade … vom ersten Eindruck her geht das ganz gut … interessant, dass Shepp gemäss den Liner Notes (soll wohl O-Ton sein, von Horst Weber aufgezeichnet) sagt, „Eddie Davis definitely influenced my idea of the sound of the saxophone, and on the other side of the spectrum there was Coltrane. Somehow I tried to bring those two concepts (Jaw and Trane) together“. Mit dem „Jaw“ (das „s“ fehlt wirklich) ist dann auch klar, dass nicht etwa der andere Eddie Davis gemeint ist.
