Cub Koda war Gründungsmitglied von Brownsville Station. Nach dem Ende der Gruppe startete er 1979 Cub Koda & The Points, eine sehr kurzlebige Gruppe, die 1980 mit ihrem selbstbetitelten Album, auf dem das Cover enthalten ist, nur eine einzige LP herausbrachte. Nach ein paar wenigen weiteren Platten als Cub Koda & The Houserockers und unter eigenem Namen verlegte er sich auf seine Tätigkeit als Musikjournalist, u.a. als Redakteur und Herausgeber des All Music Guide.
