In dieser gemütlichen, aber kraftvollen Aufnahme trägt Dillon Carmichaels Bariton-Stimme down-home truths vor: „Love is for making, kids are for raising, and home is that place in your heart / Don’t overthink you, don’t complicate it, the secrets o‘ life ain’t that hard“. Besonders gefällt mir der kurze Mittelteil: „There’ll be ups and downs, ain’t nobody saying it’s easy“.
Dillon Carmichael arbeitet an seinem Debüt-Album und ist offenbar Traditionalist. Auf YouTube kann man sich zum Beispiel noch sein Bekenntnis „Made to Be a Country Boy“ anhören: Das ist in Musik, Text und Bild so sehr „Country“ wie es überhaupt nur geht:
