Ach so, um das off-topic noch abzuschliessen: die Oper gestern war nicht nur kirchen- sondern auch frauenfeindlich … allerdings hat ja gerade in der Oper das Spiel mit Verkleidungen und Verwechslungen eine lange Tradition. Rossinis „Le Comte Ory“ (hörte ich gestern) ist da wohl ein besonders schönes Beispiel. Die Story hinter dem Libretto war wohl in Frankreich im frühen 19. und davor schon ziemlich typisch.
Und dann fand ich gerade noch das hier, über Ophélie Gaillards zweite Einspielung der Bach’schen Cellosuiten – auch so ein Statement, das man über einen Mann nicht lesen würde:
Her playing is consistently elegant and assured and…sounds quite modern. We are not so much transported back in time as brought up to date…Technically assured, she is nevertheless physically challenged by these works, to judge from the many instances of audible breathing on the discs. Yet the focus and momentum she sustains in the Fifth and Sixth Suites in particular is undeniably impressive.
