Ist ja interessant, seine Aufnahmen aus dem Jahr mit Johnson zu hören – gegen Ende hat er etwas von seiner Weichheit abgelegt und ziemlich gewonnen. Man merkt ihm das hier wohl auch an, quasi ein gestählter Cool-Jazzer.
