aber wenn du vorher schreibst, dass auf der 4-cd-ausgabe sachen drauf sind, die in der mingus-box fehlen, heißt das, dass die „complete debut recordings“ nicht complete sind?
Komplett mit Mingus wohl schon … aber Mingus spielte/arrangierte halt nicht immer. Es kam ja auch zum Bruch bzw. Auseinanderleben mit Roach … in Sachen Essentials ohne Mingus fallen mir spontan v.a. die Aufnahmen von Kenny Dorham und Charlie Parker (OJCCD) ein, aber auch Max Roach Quartet/Septet (auch OJCCD) und John La Porta (Lonehill, tatsächlich!)
