Just wanted to let you know that the new Swans album leaving meaning. is now available for pre-order. You can get a signed copy via the Young God Records Webstore (https://bit.ly/2jWX7nB). It will be officially released October 25. You can listen to a song from the album called „It’s Coming It’s Real“ on Swans YouTube channel (https://bit.ly/2jWXkqT). It’s just one facet of an album that is replete with a wide variety of moods, dynamics and atmospheres. This particular song features the choral vocals of Anna and Maria von Hausswolff. The album includes contributions from recent and former Swans, members of Angels of Light, as well as Special Guest Artists Ben Frost, The Necks, Baby Dee, a Hawk and a Hacksaw and Anna and Maria von Hausswolff. This album is the first installment from the newly reconfigured Swans, which will henceforth draw from a wide pool of talented contributors, varying from record to record. I hope you enjoy the music!

Hold on Magnolia to that great highway moonGroßartiges Album, das mich fast ebenso sehr an „The Burning World“ und „Love Of Life“ erinnert wie an den Swans-Output dieses Jahrzehnts. Hoffentlich bleiben die Hausswolff-Schwestern und Chris Abrahams noch lange im erweiterten Bandkreis (zunächst einmal ist aber Ben Frost nächstes Jahr als Tourmitglied dabei, yeah!)

I'm making jokes for single digits now.Kennst Du schon das komplette Album? Rezensionsexemplar? Ich habe mich, wie schon einmal in den vergangenen Jahren, an der Crowdfunding Kampagne für das neue Album beteiligt und besitze daher die CD „What is this?“, wo auch „Hanging Man“ und „It’s Coming It’s Real“ als Demos zu finden sind, aber die klingen doch anders als die fertigen Stücke.

Ja. Das Album ist von den Versionen auf „What Is This?“ größtenteils (einige Tracks sind im Kern dann doch Soloaufnahmen geblieben, bzw. dem kommunalen Folk von The Angels Of Light näher) sehr weit entfernt. Die waren, ähnlich wie Giras Solotour 2018, ja auch noch bewusst Dokumentation eines Work-in-Progress.
