Naja, das ist für Newman-Verhältnisse ein schwaches Werk – da gibt’s nichts herumzudeuteln. Der Sound des Albums ist für Kinder der Neunziger wie meine Wenigkeit auch etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, mittlerweile habe ich mich „eingehört“.

Die Art und Weise, wie er in „My life is good“ auf Springsteens Frage, ob nicht er mal den Job des Bosses übernehmen könnte, sichtlich überrascht well yeah säuselt (man sieht förmlich langsam das Licht angehen), um anschließend sofort Ernie Watts mit blow, big man, blow aufzufordern, sein verdammtes Solo zu bringen, ist ein ganz großer Moment in seiner Karriere. Und „Real emotional girl“ klar der beste Song auf dem Album.
