Keep on Rocking!War mein erstes Album von Van Morrison. Hat daher auch immer eine Sonderstellung inne.
Aber es ist ein wirklich sehr gutes Album, mit dem absoluten Highlight „Cleaning Windows“. Einziger Schwachpunkt: das überflüssige Instrumental „Scandinavia“.--

Aber es ist ein wirklich sehr gutes Album, mit dem absoluten Highlight „Cleaning Windows“. Einziger Schwachpunkt: das überflüssige Instrumental „Scandinavia“.Zu „Scandinavia“ kann man sicher geteilter Meinung sein, aber ich mag diese Art von meditativen Instrumentals gerne. Gewöhnungsbedürftig ist es aber schon.
„Cleaning Windows“ ist in der Tat einer seiner besten Songs überhaupt. Damals hatte Van ja auch noch am Wochenende Saxofon gespielt….und sogar Mark Knopfler an die Gitarre gelassen.
„Beautiful vision“ ist ein vielseitiges Album. „Celtic Ray“ mit seinen traditionell irischen Klängen in moderner Instrumentierung und dem fast gospelhaften Backgroundgesang deuten die Bandbreite schon mal an. „Vanlose Stairway“ ist einer der Songs, die fast wie Gebete wirken und mir unter die Haut gehen.--
Keep on Rocking!Das langweilige „Scandinavia“ und der „Aryan Mist(ake)“ sind die beiden eindeutigen Schwachpunkte der Platte (***), der absolute Höhepunkt noch vor „Cleaning Windows“ ist für mich „Across the Bridge Where Angels Dwell“ (beide *****), der Rest wie die gesamte Platte mindestens ****.
