    Das wurde nur der späteren CD-Ausgabe angefügt.

    siehe hier: „A decade later, the album was reissued on CD and cassette, with a newly recorded version of „Paint It, Black“ added as an quizzical bonus.“

    When the group's later label, A&M, finally got around to reissuing the album for the first time stateside, a curious bonus was included: a version of the Rolling Stones' „Paint It, Black,“ recorded by the later lineup of the band in 1990.

    Nach erneutem Genuss dieses Meisterwerks (welch genialer Bass!!) bleibe ich dabei: mir fällt nach wie vor keine Platte in den 80s ein, die diese für mich getoppt hätte.

    Für mich ist Music For A New Society gleichrangig obwohl natürlich völlig andersartig.

    schnell, nervös, hypnotisch, zuweilen monoton, zumeist filigran. Dieser Aufbruch in die 80-er konnte sich hören lassen.

    Gesamt: ****1/2

    Der Titel ist Programm. Die Songs bestehen meist aus zappeligen Rhythmen, die sich monoton hochschrauben (was sich wie ein Widerspruch anhört :-)). Dazu gibt es schneidige Gitarren, deren Riffs in ihrer Einfachheit an Lou Reed erinnern, nur schneller. Kein Gramm Fett zu viel, alles auf den Punkt. Das ist erstaunlicherweise ausreichend, um sich von anderen Bands deutlich abzuheben. Das fährt auch ungemein in die Gliedmaßen und es ist schwer, nicht mit irgendwas mitzuwippen. Eigenartig verführerisch.
