was singt er im reizenden „pancake day“? „blazing joints will get my homies ‚round/ the neighbours keep complaining about the sound/ turn it down they say/ relax, ?, it’s snoop dogg and dr dre“?

Du meinst bezüglich der EP? Hatte letzte Woche mein Exemplar erhalten und ‚A Product Of The Ego Drain‘ bisher erst zweimal gehört. Die Versionen der bekannten Songs sind mir als LP-Fassungen lieber. Einen „mechanischen“ Beat höre ich in ‚Cars‘ nicht. Oder ich habe nach Deinem Eindruck etwas anderes erwartet. Gib mir noch ein paar Durchläufe. Und vielleicht bist Du ja schon in der Lage, ein paar Worte zu verlieren.

meinte eher allgemein… deine eindrücke auf’s album bezogen. in bezug darauf:

Jetzt weiß ich nicht, wie ich weiter verfahren soll. Auf jeden Fall setze ich das Album auf die „am 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag früh morgens vorm Kamin sitz“-Liste.

Die EP tut dem Album gut und sorgt für deutlich Abwechslung, da die Platte ein wenig Fahrt gewinnt. Keine Scheibe für die Ewigkeit, dazu sind die songs insgesamt zu schwach. Aber eine nette Herbstplatte allemal.

Jetzt auch von mir. Wie konnt‘ ich das Anfang des Jahres hier nur verpassen? Ein herrliches Album, das zu Vergleichen mit den Fleet Foxes tatsächlich Anlass gibt. Es ist nur irgendwie ein bisschen leichter, schwereloser… Etwas weniger Melancholie, Feel Good-Album of the Year! (Bei Filmen ist das für mich immer ein Grund, sie mir nicht anzuschauen, dieses Feel Good-Ding, hier meine ich es ausschließlich als Kompliment.)
