A Kiss in the DreamhouseDa ich die Platte bisher erst einmal gehört habe, warte ich noch etwas mit einer ausführlichen Meinung. Mein erster Eindruck ist aber sehr positiv: Staton bei bester Stimme und ein gutes Backing.

Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, daß sie dir gefallen wird, dougsahm. Ich sehe „His Hands“ nach 4x Hören auf ähnlich hohem Gesamtniveau wie Al Greens „I Can’t Stop“. Insgesamt ein sehr stimmiges Album, bei dem sich Fremd- und Eigenkompositionen auf gleichem Niveau bewegen. Zwei, drei Songs ragen sogar besonders positiv hervor, allen voran Will Oldhams Komposition.

FAVOURITESEine sehr gute Platte die mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit am Ende des Jahres einen vorderen Platz in meinen Jahrescharts einnimmt. Die stimmigste Platte des Jahres ist sie jetzt schon! Und die Stimme!! Von dieser Stimme kann man gar nicht genug schwärmen…

Der Teufel ist ein Optimist, wenn er glaubt, dass er die Menschen schlechter machen kann. "Fackel" - Karl KrausAusgezeichnetes Soulalbum – so eine Art Solomon Burke (Don’t Give Up on Me) in weiblich. Wunderbare Stimme, klassische Zutaten (Bläser, Backgroundvocals), durchgehend gutes Songmaterial, souverän eingespielt. Reiht sich nahtlos bei den hochklassigen Neuerscheinungen 2006 ein.
Neben der Musik gefällt auch die stimmige Covergestaltung. Schade, dass die Defektbeschreibung der CD so groß ausgefallen ist.
