was ich auf „13“ auf Anhieb erkannt hab', war ein in meinen Augen bemühtes Unterdrücken von Wohlklang/Melodie. Soundästhetik stand vor Songwriting. Gilt aber nicht für alle Songs. „Tender“ oder „Coffee and TV“ z.B. gebe ich mir auch heute noch gerne. Albarn hat wohl krampfhaft versucht, authentisch rüberzukommen, mir gefiel sein Wildern in der britischen Popgeschichte („The great escape“) einfach besser.
