Nein, bisher nur die diesjährige Kollaboration mit Isobel Campbell, die aber wohl, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe, mit seinen Solo-Sachen nicht wirklich viel zu tun hat? Ist „I’ll Take Care Of You“ für dich denn gleichzeitig auch sein bestes Album? Und als Einstieg geeignet?

„I’ll take care of you“ war nach Lanegan’s Werken mit den Screaming Trees mein Einstieg in sein Solo-Schaffen und bleibt bis heute das absolute Highlight. Groß sind auch die „Field songs“ von 2001. Von den früheren Alben ist zu empfehlen „Scraps at midnight“, während ich „Whiskey for the holy ghost“ noch nicht kenne.
Später ging Lanegan dann Richtung Blues und Rock mit den Alben „Here comes the weird chill“ und „Bubblegum“. Es blieb zwar alles sehr rudimentär und die Stimme konnte auch weiterhin überzeugen, aber von wesentlich größerer Intensität und Inbrunst zeugen „I’ll take care of you“ und „Field songs“ und sind somit auch der ideale Einstieg i.m.o. Und vergiß das Duett mit Isobell Campbell. Ein Fehltritt in meinen Ohren.

´99 war für mich wie steady Weihnachten. Zu der Zeit hab ich fast ausschliesslich HipHop gehört, was angesichts der Qualität was in dem Jahr rausging auch kein Wunder ist. Deshalb besteht meine Liste auch nur aus Rapmusik. Alles andere fand ich damals blöd. Ausser „You´ve come a long way baby“. Aber dass find ich jetzt zu blöd. Travis gefällt mir inzwischen, aber bis es „The Man Who“ in die ersten 15 schafft dürften schon noch 1 bis 2 Jahre vergehen.

:bier: War in der Tat DAS Hip Hop Jahr schlechthin. 1999/2000 war auch die Hochphase des Rawkus Labels, da kam wirklich jeden zweiten Monat nen Klassiker auf den Markt (Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch, Reflection Eternal).
Sehr schöne Liste im Übrigen, da merk ich erst, was ich alles in meiner vergessen hab‘.
