Die Sons hat Pipe Bowl in seiner 2012er Liste. Schönes Americana Album, das mich ein wenig an die Jayhawks erinnert (in deren guten Phasen).
Watson ist musikalisch toll aber von der Gesangsstimme her eher gewöhnungsbdürftig. Er singt schon sehr hoch.
Silent League machen sehr schöne melodische Musik, manchmal schon fast etwas "zerbrechlich" wirkend.
Gewinnen ist nicht alles, gewinnen ist das einzige.

**) ab dem Lonehill 2CD-Set "Hal McKusick Quartet - The Complete Barry Galbraith, Milt Hinton and Osie Johnson Recordings" (bei dem die drei von Hal Russell komponierten Tracks von "Jazz Workshop" fehlen, weswegen der Titel eine Lüge ist... stattdessen sind aber die restlichen JWS-Tracks da, auch welche, die nicht im Quartett entstanden sind... und das Album mit Sol Gubin am Schlagzeug ist ja auch da)
