Für mich ist es weder das eine noch das andere. „Jacksonville City Nights“ und auch „Ashes and fire“ höre ich z.B. definitiv stärker. Andererseits höre ich das Album auch nicht völlig schlecht. Es wird sich bei mir zwischen *** und ***1/2 einpendeln. Es ist recht eingängig, hat einen recht starken Rockeinschlag und es fehlen die ganz großen Songs, die sich Adams zu Zeiten von „Heartbreaker“ bis „Cold roses“ aus dem Ärmel schüttelte. Den Opener „Gimme something good“ höre ich, wohl gegen den allgemeinen Trend, als stärksten Track des Albums.
