Aber: wenn es Tracks sind, z.B. bei den frühen Ellington-Aufnahmen, wäre ein Hinweis auf Label und/oder Aufnahmedatum hilfreich, der Duke hat ja z.T. dieselben Stücke für OKeh, Victor und weitere Label eingespielt!

Brunswick- und Vocalion-Aufnahmen sind das … vor dem Split, bei dem der Rest dann zu Columbia/Sony kam, die „Early Ellington“ ist bei GRP erschienen (heute Universal, damals … MCA/PolyGram, was weiss ich, dazwischen mal noch Verve Music Group oder so ähnlich).
Dasselbe Repertoire hat Ellington zu grossen Teilen auch für OKeh („The OKeh Ellington“, Columbia, 2 CD) und RCA („Centennial Edition: Complete RCA Victor Recordings: 1927-1973“, BMG, 24 CD – es gab wohl auch weniger umfangreiche Reissues ;-)) eingespielt.
Bei Stücken wie „So What“ oder dem „All Blues“ von Miles, Coltranes „My Favorite Things“ und anderen gäbe es natürlich auch mehrere Versionen (von „So What“ fände ich ev. die Live-Version aus Scheveningen am besten, oder auch die Version von dieser TV-Show). Aber solange Du da nichts weiter spezifizierst, sind wohl die „Standard“-Aufnahmen (also die ersten aus dem Studio gemeint?
Oder Bill Evans, „You Don’t Know What Love Is“ – da gibt es verschiedene Versionen, offiziell wohl nur die mit Tony Bennett und eine frühe als Sideman mit Lee Konitz, zudem weitere auf Bootlegs … ist ja nicht so wichtig bzw. es wäre ein riesiger Aufwand, überall die Alben bzw. Compilations zu ergänzen, mir fielen halt bloss beim schnellen Durchgucken gleich ein paar solcher Fälle auf.
Vielleicht magst Du zudem noch die Schreibweise von Pharoah Sanders‘ Namen korrigieren.

Von vielen Ellington-Kompositionen gibt es zahlreiche Studio-Versionen, die in unterschiedlichen Zeiten für unterschiedliche Labels entstanden, wie gypsy schon schrieb.
Beeindruckende Arbeit jedenfalls.
