Die letzten beiden halte ich für absolut wegweisend was nachfolgenden Gangstarap betrifft. Bei Straight outta Compton stellt Ice Cube zuerst klar, wo er herkommt (Compton hatte sicher auch vor NWA schon einen fiesen Ruf) und außerdem noch, dass er ein geisteskranker Psychopath ist, mit dem man nicht zu spaßen hat. Bamm, Bamm, kurz und knapp, der Idealprolog schlechthin.
Mit FTP hat er dann wohl sowas wie ein neues Kulturzeitalter eingeläutet. Der Ausdruck allein mag schon drastisch sein, woher er kommt (straight from the underground, direkt aus den Slums) macht ihn nur noch härter, signifikanter, aussagekräftiger.--
