ClauYeah, Mag. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass Du damit etwas anfangen kannst. Im letzten Jahr drehte nichts auf meinem Plattenteller so häufig, wie Nick Waterhouse‘ Singles.

Ich erweitere meinen Horizont stetig.
Ich weiß noch nicht, ob das auf Albumlänge für mich funktioniert, aber so energiegeladen kurz und knackig, auf jeden Fall.

In fact, Waterhouse and his various backing bands and songbird choirs, are entirely of the now, using all the elements of the classics as a springboard, in ways sometimes akin the way things are handled over on the East Coast at Daptone. San Francisco certainly ain’t Brooklyn, so the resulting gritty soulfulness bears traces of an easy-going attitude that couldn’t come from anywhere but California – even if his style looks like it’s straight from Lubbock, Texas. Without further adding to any geographical or historical confusion, here’s one of his heart-warming 45s DJ sets we caught live at the Do-Over’s infamous Sleep-Over session in Palm Springs:
