die New Danger von Mos Def ist wohl eine der mir bekannte Platten die im Hip Hop Bereich bisher am experementierfreudigsten erscheint. Er flirtet mit Rock, Blues, Funk und Soul wie kein zweiter und das macht die Platte so einzigartig weil Mos Def´s Flow dazu herrlich passt. Die Texte klingen teilweise sehr deep und nicht nur Playa Shit und Gangsta sondern it´s coming from the Heart know i´m sayin?!

Er singt auf der New Danger halt viel über die Frauen und der Liebe. Das meinte ich mit Deep Lyrics.

2. Nas – Illmatic (Nas Flow einfach hammer beste track „Memory Lane“)

hab ich mir kürzlich gekauft und höre ich seither besonders gerne.
dabei habe ich mich vor nas lange gescheut, da ich die musik von ihm mit einigen ehemaligen, unsympathischen schulfreunden in verbindung gebracht habe. dabei kann doch da der nas nichts dafür. der mann haut einem die reime um die ohren, dass man am liebsten gleich abheben würde. vielleicht kann mir jemand noch sagen, wie ich nach illmatic mit nas weiterfahren muss?

Moe, ich empfehle „God’s Son“. Sehr melodisch, durchgängig und mit „Made you look“ eine Hymne die mindestens an „Nas is like“ heranreicht. ***7/8 oder ****, ich kann mich im Moment nicht entscheiden.

Ich würde eventuell ATliens gegen Aquemini tauschen und Masta Ace gegen die Digable Planets.

Ja, schon komisch. Mit dem Warren G Album verbinde ich einen langen Aufenthalt an der Westküste vor vielen Jahren. Im Endeffekt (vielleicht zu) glatt, perfekt produziert, ultraclevere samples und Referenzen. Tiefe Bässe die vor allem im Auto gut funktionieren. Keine Zimmer- oder Kopfhörermusik.

CleetusIm Ernst, die letzten Zwei wirken so, als wären sie grade noch so reingerutscht aber nicht wirklich wichtig, wieso sind diese beiden Alben soweit hinten?

Ja, hinten ist es schwierig, da versuche ich die relevanten Alben noch in die Top 100 zu quetschen. Nach der „100“ geht es übrigens weiter, im Moment führe ich eine Top 200 Liste.

Brand Nubian – „One for All“ ist unerreicht, „In God we Trust“ witzigerweise auf Platz 102.

Jungle Brothers – „Done by the forces of nature“ auf Platz 134

Für „Engine, Engine Number 9“ musst Du meinen Platz 8 kaufen (Black Sheep).

Die restlichen genannten finden sich alle, teilweise mehrfach, auf den Plätzen 110 – 200. Vielleicht stelle ich die Top 200 mal ein, sollte ich aber auch nochmal überarbeiten.

CleetusSonst ist die Liste toll, keine einzige Nennung die ich nicht mag, außer vielleicht L.O.T.N.S. ein bisschen. Reschpekt!
