So, hier kommt meine Liste. Die Top 20 sind seit Jahren relativ stabil, die weiteren Plätze verschieben sich je nach Wochentag…., allerdings würde ich diese Liste als meine persönlichen Top 100 ansehen. Vieles fehlt, vieles überrascht eventuell – aber so ist es nun mal

Besonders freut mich die Nennung von Bahamadia, Nine, J.Rawls und den Artifacts. Mich wundert dass du „Donuts“ fuehrst in einer Rap-Liste und warum habens weder Jaylib noch Lord Quas in die Top100 geschafft?

Auffällig an deiner Liste ist, dass darin, wenn ich das richtig sehe, nur drei Alben aus den 80ern enthalten sind („Straight Outta Compton“, „It Takes a Nation…“, „Paid in Full“). Kein „Criminal Minded“, kein „Critical Beatdown“, kein „Paul´s Boutique“, kein „Follow the Leader“, kein „Straight out the Jungle“, kein „3 Feet High…“, kein „In Full Gear“, nichts von Ice-T, Just-Ice, EPMD oder Run DMC.
Sieht man ja eher selten. Nicht deine Zeit die späten und mittleren 80er, die ich persönlich ja als Phase von großer Kreativität im Hip-Hop sehe (auch was Alben angeht)?--

Die 80er sind bei mir in der Tat unterrepräsentiert. Das waren alles tolle Alben, die ich auch gerne höre, aber da ich erst seit Anfang/Mitte der Neunziger Hip Hop höre, haben die Alben aus den 80ern für mich persönlich nicht so eine Bedeutung.
Group Home „Livin‘ proof“ solltest du dir unbedingt anhören. Das Album ist (ich glaube mit einer Ausnahme) komplett von DJ Premier produziert.

Sehr schöne Liste. Da merkt man immer, was man in seiner eigenen noch vergessen hat (# 24, 28, 29, 33, 47, 72, 83). Bin erstaunt, dass du gerade „The new danger“ von Mos Def gewählt hast und „Black on both sides“ oder „Black Star“ gar nicht erwähnst.--
2 schöne Listen, vielen Dank, sind ein paar Anregungen dabei (und in 1-2 Fällen ein Hinweis darauf, dass ich meine Top100 leicht anpassen sollte – vieles gerät über die Jahre doch in Vergessenheit).

Bei mir ist das natürlich ganz anders: In den 90ern hatte ich mit Hip-Hop im Grunde noch gar nichts zu tun. Ich interessiere und begeistere mich erst seit, ich würde mal sagen, gut zwei Jahren intensiver für Hip-Hop (deshalb auch noch viele große Lücken). Dadurch lerne ich ohnehin fast alles, was wichtig in diesem Genre war, erst im Nachhinein kennen (natürlich ist vieles seit den frühen 90ern nicht völlig an mir vorbeigegangen, aber damals bedeutete es mir noch nichts), weshalb es für mich nun heute keine so große Rolle spielt, ob etwas aus den 80ern oder aus den 90ern ist. Ich lerne es sowieso jetzt erst richtig kennen.--
