Handelt es sich um R’n’R- Musik?Larry Williams: ein paar seiner Songs kennst Du bestimmt, zumindest in Coverversionen!
Z. B. „Dizzy Miss Lizzy“ (Beatles) oder das großartige „Short Fat Fannie“ (Little Richard; der Text setzt sich ausschließlich aus Zitaten anderer Songs zusammen). Also Rock’n’Roll/R&B, teils mit scherzhaften Texten.Nr. 1 ist m. E. Pop, in etwa in der Art, wie ihn auch Sinatra in der Zeit machte (oft als Bezeichnung „Vocal Jazz“ bezeichnet, wobei mir nicht ganz klar ist, wie sich das genau definiert). Die Stimme erinnert mich etwas an Dinah Washington, wirkt auf mich aber nicht so affektiert wie diese. Kay Star mag sicherlich Sachen veröffentlicht haben, die dem Jazz zuzurechnen sind (sie begann ihre Karriere in den 30ern; Mitte der 50er machte sie sogar ein bischen Rock’n’Roll)), aber Movin‘ höre ich eher als jazzbeeinflussten Pop.
