Die besten Blues-Platten

Was ist mit Howlin Wolf. Ist da die Chess Greatest Hits das beste was man kaufen kann ? Oder die London Sessions.
Mag den Mann nämlich sehr.

Die „London Howlin´ Wolf Sessions“ ist ein Muß, wenn man sich außerdem noch etwas für die Berührungspunkte mit weißem Blues interessiert. Das sind sie schließlich alle dabei (Stones, Clapton, Winwood, …), und HW zeigt ihnen, wie´s geht.
Ansonsten in dieser Richtung (nicht so gut wie die London Sessions, aber ein Reinhören ist´s wert): Muddy Waters & The Rolling Stones / „Sweet Home Chicago“.

Wenn Du eine Gegenüberstellung haben willst von weißem und schwarzem Blues: „Fathers & Sons“, mit verschieden Interpreten beider Seiten, ich erinnere mich da z.B an Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williamson, … Für einen ersten (guten) Überblick eine sehr gute Scheibe.

Einer der ersten „elektrischen“ und vom Gitarrenstil her unverwechselbar: T-Bone Walker, z.B. „T-Bone Blues – The essential recordings“
Wenn Du Howlin´ Wolf und Muddy Waters etwas kennengelernt hast, kann die “ H.W., Muddy Waters & Bo Diddley – The super super blues band“ interessant sein.

John Lee Hooker ist ein Muß zum Erforschen, aber konkrete Empfehlungen möchte ich jetzt ohne Cross-Check nicht abgeben.

Wie bereits erwähnt, gibt es wenig reguläre Veröffentlichungen.

Ja welche meinst du denn?

Es gab da mal in den 80ern von Amiga eine Blues-Collection Reihe mit wohl 15(?) LP’s, die ich auch habe.
Die Reihe gewährte mir damals einen ersten tiefen Einblick in den Blues, sehr zu empfehlen!
Müsste auch in jedem guten Second-Hand erhältlich sein, zumindest einzelne LP’s.
Ob es davon mittlerweile eine CD-Veröffentlichung gibt ist mir nicht bekannt.
