Auch schön das Cover der UK-Ausgabe (Esquire, 1958):

auch ein nacktes Kabel

Und klar, die Anspielung gilt Charlie Parker, aka „Bird“, dem die veir mehr oder minder nacheiferten – Shihab befreite sich später nachhaltig und fand am Bariton- und Sopransax und an der Querflöte eine gewichtige eigene Stimme, Stein blieb völlig unbekannt, Quill fast völlig, Woods wurde zum satten Parker-Epigonen, der aber schon auch gute Sachen gemacht hat.
