Im Dezember erscheint eine Small Faces Immediate Box!
There was an Immediate Years Box Set some years back, which was a bit hit and miss. Pretty sure that will not be the case with The Small Faces – Here Comes The Nice Immediate Years Box Set 1967 – 1969.
The first details of it have just been made available and it looks a cracker. Coming out in December 2013 (ideal for Christmas) and we think via Charly, it has been produced with the full co-operation of the band, featuring four CDs of music, each one ‘immaculately’ remastered. There’s a tracklisting at the end of this piece if you want to know what made the cut.
But that (even with all its unreleased material) is only half the story. The whole package looks immense.
According to the write-up, it will also feature:
A fully-illustrated 72-page hardback book with a foreword by Pete Townshend
Definitive sleeve notes by Mojo’s Mark Paytrss
Over 50 previously unpublished photos, including sessions by Gered Mankowitz
An exclusive track-by-track guide from original studio logs and band diaries
A definitive lyric booklet with rare Small Faces memorabilia and photos
Three red, white and blue 7-inch singles, including ‘the rarest Small Faces single’
A replica Olympic studio acetate with unheard alternate take
Two posters for Tin Soldier and Newcastle City Hall Concert
Facsimile of rare ‘Ogdens’ press kit
Five collectors edition postcards
Two fine art prints
Newly-written contributions from Robert Plant, Paul Weller, David Bowie, Nick Mason and more

That is an impressive set.
We don’t have a date yet, but you would imagine it will be up for (discounted) pre-order at Amazon.co.uk any day now, so keep an eye on that. If we see it, we’ll amend these details.

Ohne Musik ist alles Leben ein Irrtum.leider noch keine eindrücke, aber, wenn ich sehe, dass amazon uk das teil für 219 pfund
anbietet, sind die 129,99 euro bei jpc ( event. noch minus 8%) doch geradezu ein
schnäppchen…..;-), die optik ist jedenfalls schon sehr ansprechend !--

Es ist ja noch ein bisschen Vinyl dabei, außerdem ist das Teil limitiert und von den beiden noch lebenden Bandmitgliedern signiert. Als reine Vinylausgabe hätte ich das sofort gekauft.

Es ist ja noch ein bisschen Vinyl dabei, außerdem ist das Teil limitiert und von den beiden noch lebenden Bandmitgliedern signiert. Als reine Vinylausgabe hätte ich das sofort gekauft.
Habe ich da nie etwas dazu geschrieben? Für mich ist das so mit das beste Boxset überhaupt. Erstens weil die Musik so absolut großartig ist, vor allem aber, weil die Musik in einer Soundqualität zu hören ist, die ich so nie zuvor von den SF hören durfte. Die Remixe sind der Hammer, aber auch die vielen Alternativversionen bzw. Alternativ-Mixe sind stark. Plus die 7″s, das Mega-Booklet und die Autogramme von Kenny und Mac!
