The Lemonheads recruit Liv Tyler and Kate Moss to sing too!
The Lemonheads have unveiled the tracklisting for an eclectic eleven track covers album which includes renditions of songs by Gram Parsons, Townes Van Zandt and Leonard Cohen amongst others.
The album, entitled Varshons will also see the likes of Christina Aguilera’s hit „Beautiful“ taken on by the rock trio.
The album, coming on September 13, was apparently inspired by mixtapes given by Butthole Surfers‘ Giggy Haynes, a longtime friend to Evan Dando.
The Lemonheads frontman says: „Making a good mix is an art, and Gibby has it down. I thought it would be fun to share these songs with other people like he shared them with me. So I picked the ‚greatest hits‘ from his mixes and covered them, along with a few other songs I always wanted to play.“
The album, produced by Haynes and Anthony Saffery from Cornershop also features guest vocalists including Liv Tyler on Leonard Cohen’s „Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye,“ and Kate Moss on Arling & Cameron’s „Dirty Robot.“
The Only Ones‘ John Perry also plays guitar on several tracks.

WerbungNa das gibt ne lustige Platte! Der Evan covert ja schon lange und immer wieder. Und meist beweist er ein gutes Händchen. Bin gespannt und erfreut.

[U][I][B]HIER Entlang. Wunderbar vorgetragen. Zudem sieht er klasse aus. Auch wenn der Clip schon paar Tage alt ist.--
