Herr RossiDie Innovationen immer nur den späteren Alben zuzuschreiben, scheint mir historisch nicht korrekt.

Ist es auch nicht. Nur waren zwar die Innovationsschritte „kleiner“, nichtsdestotrotz aber für die Zeit „mutig“

ClauExperimentell beziehungsweise progressiv ist das Album insofern, als daß hier das erste mal eine zwölfsaitige Gitarre aufgenommen wurde.

12saitige Gitarren wurden auch schon vorher aufgenommen. Hier bei der Platte kam zum ersten Mal eine 12saitige E-Gitarre (Rickenbacker 360/12 Fireglo) zum Einsatz. Dieses Instrument faszinierte Roger McGuinn derart, dass er sich auch eine holte. Der Rest ist Geschichte. Er spielt sie heute noch
Aber auch Pete Townshend holte sich eine. Allerdings spielte er sie verzerrt. Was wiederum ein Novum war.

Man kann auch sagen, dass die Rickenbacker schon ein Soundprägendes Element dieser Platte war. Man hört sie fast auf jedem Track. George Harrison war auch hin und weg von dieser Gitarre.
Mich hat bei I call your name immer der „Skarhythmus“ von Lennon beim Solo fasziniert. Das Solo ansich auf der 12saitigen ist auch klasse.

Die erste LP der Fab Four ausschließlich mit Eigenkompositionen. Wenn man bedenkt, dass die Beatles seinerzeit von Tour zu Tour hetzten und die letzte LP-Veröffentlichung grad mal ein halbes Jahr zurücklag, kann man sich angesichts dieser hohen Qualität der Stücke nur verwundert die Augen reiben. Dazu paralell noch die Singles, die allesamt sofort Hits wurden. Auch jetzt noch unglaublich…
