Um den gebührenden Respektabstand zu „God Only Knows“ und „Don’t Worry Baby“ einzuhalten?

Nein, das spielt keine Rolle. Mir fehlt hier etwas, die Tracks sind für sich genommen nicht zwingend genug für *****, obwohl sie perfekt zur Stimmung des Albums passen (auf dem eigentlich nur „Student Demonstration Time“ etwas disparat daherkommt).

10. Surf’s Up * * * * *Insgesamt * * * * 1/2 und irgendwie schade, dass 3 eher schwächere Songs darauf enthalten sind. Die Grundstimmung ist so gut, dass mit 3 den anderen ebenbürtigen Songs ein absolutes Meisterwerk entstanden wäre. Seufz.

take a load und student demonstration sind aber längst nicht so schlecht, wie sie hier bewertet werden, find ich. meine bewertung folgt demnächst mal.

TRINKEN WIE GEORGE BEST UND FUSSBALL SPIELEN WIE MARADONA‚Til I Die + Surf’s Up = overrated. The high part on the latter one („…culminated ruins domino“) is just annoying and the „are you sleeping, brother…“-part only makes it even worse. Also think that „‚Til I Die“ is in the same class as the titletrack (***½, both). Not downright bad songs but blenders.
Meine Faves sind ja „Disney Girls“ (*****) und „Feel Flows“ (****½)
