Soeben ist auf Tony Bevans Foghorn Label das erste Studio Album von Sunny Murrays europäischem Trio erschienen, welches seit einiger Zeit tourt. Neben Murray besteht es aus Tony Bevan (Tenor) und John Edwards (Bass). „I Stepped Onto A Bee“ ist für mich eins der diesjährigen Jazz-Highlights. Tolle Interaktion zwischen drei gleichberechtigten Partnern, Murray ist dabei nie zu stark im Vordergrund und im Gegensatz zum Live-Material ist das Album wesentlich vielschichtiger und dynamischer.

Hast Du ihn denn schonmal live erlebt? Irgendwelche Stories zu erzählen?
