Welches Equipment verwenden eigentlich…Pink Floyd?

WerbungDanke @atom. Sehr interessant.

you can't win them allAb dem 25.03.2022 bei Cuneiform!
From their beginnings as a psychedelic rock band in 1966, sharing stages with Pink Floyd and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, to being one of the originators of electric jazz/rock by early 1969, Britain’s Soft Machine were restlessly creative. Facelift France and Holland captures them at a pivotal moment in the first quarter of 1970 as a short-lived quintet, just before they recorded and released their breakthrough album Third.
--
Hey man, why don't we make a tune... just playin' the melody, not play the solos...As broadcast on the French TV programme Pop 2, the film of Soft Machine’s concert at Paris’ Théâtre de la Musique, which constitutes the main course of the present release, stands as an exceptional document of the band at, arguably, its artistic peak.
It is the earliest footage of the band to be commercially released and also the only video footage known to exist of the quintet line-up that was active from January to March 1970. The broadcast contains the only professionally-recorded performance of “Out-Bloody- Rageous” with Lyn Dobson on second sax and it also is the only professionally-recorded alternative performance by the quintet of “Facelift” (the original appearing as the opening track on Third).
Facelift France and Holland marks the first official release of the entire show in both audio and video format. Footage… more

God told me to do it.Neues Album am 30.06.2023
The brand new Soft Machine studio album ‘Other Doors’ has now been recorded, mixed and mastered and it is time to get it ready to send out into the world. Our first studio album since 2018’s ‘Hidden Details’ it marks a new chapter in the history of the band – both an ending and a beginning for this unique band that has now been in existence for 55 years. This studio album sees the final studio appearance of the legend that is John Marshall, our wonderful drummer. John played his heart out on this album and since completing the recording and playing one incredible last gig at London’s iconic Ronnie Scott’s Club in July 2022, he has decided to retire as a result of ongoing health issues.
The album also sees the introduction of bass player Fred Baker to the band following the retirement of the one and only Roy Babbington,
We, John, John, Fred and Theo are all very proud are all very proud of this new album as it features some great new music and inspired playing as well as the reimagining of two Soft Machine classics – ‘Penny Hitch’ (from ‘Seven’) and ‘Joy of a Toy’ (from the first album)
Atmospheric improvisations, psychadelic free jazz, burning jazz rock, screaming guitar, hypnotic looped alto flutes, fretless bass grooves, powerful drums and experimental electronic music, Soft Machine continues to pursue its musically ambitious, wide ranging, jazz based but without boundaries agenda in creating the most ambitious and adventurous heartfelt music we can imagine. We hope you like it as much as we enjoyed making it. With Cover image by Lasse Hoile and Design by Carl Glover.
But we need your help for the final stage of the process. We need you to be a part of our team as we are making the album on John Etheridge’s own label Dyad in the UK and Europe, and Leonardo Pavkovic’ s Moonjune label in the USA and Japan. Plus thanks to the Tonefloat label in the Netherlands, the album is being released in a beautiful special vinyl edition, complete with a whole extra side of otherwise unreleased bonus tracks.
To pay the considerable costs of making and releasing the album and so that we, the musicians, will actually get paid for it we are offering some special packages to raise funds.

While the two sets from the second night (February 28, 1971) have been released before, this is the first time that the entire two-night stand has been released. So half of this is previously completely unreleased.
This is a excellent, stereo recording of the band performing in a relatively small hall; the balances between the instruments are not perfectly balanced, but there is no other recording by Soft Machine that I know of that sounds as much like the band are performing *right* in front of you!
Additionally, we were able to improve in a modest but definitely noticeable way the not-perfect balance between the instruments on this edition.
