Da hier seit kurzem „The Sweet“ Gegenstand der Bewertungen sind, dürfen m.E. als damaliges Pendant die Jungs aus Wolverhampton nun auch nicht mehr fehlen. Ich gestehe hierbei, dass ich tatsächliche Singles derzeit nur in Teilen bis „How does it feel“ besitze und mir das spätere Werk (ca. nach „We’ll bring the house down“) auch erst seit ein paar Tagen geläufig ist, da sich ein guter Bekannter dieses Teil hier besorgt hat:

Fazit: das Spätwerk ist auch hier wie in manchen anderen Fällen absolut zu vernachlässigen. Aber in den frühen 70-ern haben sie mich manchesmal gekickt.

Slade war eine der Lieblingsbands meiner Jugend. Immer wieder gerne gehört.

Es gibt auch eine tolle B-Seiten Compilation auf 2 CD’s. Sind so einige Perlen verborgen.
