Von den 11 Studioalben von Rory Gallagher rangiert „Against the grain“ bei mir an Rang 7. Nicht so zwingend wie sein Frühwerk, aber dass er es noch konnte, bewies er dann ein Jahr später mit „Calling card“. Dennoch ein gutes Album, wenn auch nicht Rory at his Best.
