Ich bin wahrscheinlich einer der Wenigen, die „Around the Sun“ wirklich klasse finden. Sicherlich ist es nicht fürchterlich innovativ, originell und schon gar nicht abwechslungsreich. Es ist ein ruhiges, sehr harmonisches Album geworden, in dem man richtig schön versinken kann.

Viel Hall auf der Stimme, ein monotoner Rhythmus, eine pochernde Drum-Machine und elektronische Spielchen, das ist es im Großen und Ganzen für mich. Der Song hätte m.E. besser auf das „Up“-Album gepasst. Was gefällt Dir so an „Electron blue“?

Electron Blue find ich einfach unwiederstehlich.
Da ist natürlich viel Ironie dabei.
Ist bei mir aber des Öfteren so, das ich bestimmte Songs derart bescheuert finde, das es einfach nur noch toll ist, trifft zumindest auch teilweise auf EB zu.

selleriedas ich bestimmte Songs derart bescheuert finde, das es einfach nur noch toll ist, trifft zumindest auch teilweise auf EB zu.

Na siehste, so beschissen finde ich ihn nicht, dass er schon wieder klasse ist. Ergo ist es ein schwacher Song. Im übrigen läuft das meinem Bewertungsschema zuwider, dass Songs, weil sie zu schlecht sind, zu den besten Songs mutieren.

Es ist so laaaaaaangweilig –

und das sage ich dir als großer R.E.M.-Fan. Sowas wie High Speed Train geht mir einfacht auf die Nerven und der Rest – Ascent Of Man, Around The Sun, Leaving New York, Aftemath… *gähn* kannste in die Tonne klopfen. Übrigens das erste Album mit Titelsong, das sagt doch mal wieder alles (schlicht einfallslos). Dafür das man 3 Jahre warten musste, bin ich nicht satisfied.
