Ich höre gerade Butterfly (youtube) und habe davor bereits ein paar andere Tracks (alle von Into The Everflow) gehört. Klingt tatsächlich ganz interessant. Wobei ich allerdings keine Jethro Tull und nur wenige 70s Bezüge höre.
Ich bin mir noch nicht schlüssig, ob ich das wirklich auf Dauer mag.Der Sänger Buddy Lackey spielt auch gelegentlich Querflöte, und dann ist er sehr nah an Tull, andere Einflüsse wären z.B. Black Sabbath und Hendrix. „Butterfly“ ist ja eine musikalische und textliche Hommage an Hendrix und diverse andere Einflüsse, bis hin zum direkten Zitat.
Ich weiß auch nicht, ob eine neue Platte bei mir heute zünden kann, in den 90s war das jedenfalls für eine ganz wichtige Band, die auch im persönlichen Kontakt unglaublich sympathisch war – bis hin zur Verabschiedung jeden Fans vom Konzert per Handschlag.

Es gibt aber auch viele, für die das Debüt „A Social Grace“ die Messlatte ist.Hier zum Beispiel, auch wenn die Prog Klischees hier am ausgeprägtesten sind und die Stimme zur Theatralik neigt. Hat sicherlich auch mit musikalischer Sozialisation zu tun. Man muß das alles mal vorbehaltlos aufgesaugt haben um die unterhaltsame Dramatik genießen zu können. Unter den 90er Metal-Progkapellen hat die Band sicherlich eine Sonderstellung.

Es gibt wohl nicht alle Alben auf Vinyl. Aber es gibt aktuell zwei CD Boxen, die jeweils zwei original Alben plus Bonus Material enthalten. Ich bin immer noch unschlüssig, ob ich die kaufen soll.

Ich habe sowohl die Original-CDs als auch die Remaster-Boxen. Ich meine, dass die Remasters transparenter und druckvoller klingen. Leider wurde das ansprechende und atmosphärisch stimmige Original-Artwork von Mike Clift durch die scheußlichen digitalen Kitsch-Collagen von Travis Smith ersetzt. Ärgert mich heute noch.

We are trying to get 10 to 15 songs together in a rough demo draft form of what will become the next PW album.
Shooting for 2011 release, but it is done when it is done.Here is where we are with the new songs:
Right now we have 6 songs in rough stages we are calling The EMBRYOSEmbryo 1 is pretty well ready to record. We have rehearsed this one alot as a band, but it still needs a little fine tuning.Lots of nice elements to this one.
Embryo 2 is interesting but we have not started playing that one together yet, but it is a great McAlpin jam. Probably work on that one next.
Embryo 3 is another good one we haven’t got to yet. Rockin‘ one. Should be very good after we work on it some.
Embryo 4 is well rehearsed and has really grown from it’s initial stages. This one has all the tricks. Get your air guitars. Norm kills this one.
Embryo 5 is the heaviest of the new kids.We have played this one for a while now and it is still growing. Dark and heavy atmosphere here.
Embryo 6 is the newest of the embryos that we have just started working on together.
This song has a cool melancholy vibe that gets heavier as it goes. Good guitar stuff so far. Still tweaking the arrangement and all the parts. Gonna be cool.There are a couple other embryos lurking as well…
But we have a lot of work to do
So be patient with us.
We have waited forever too.
So let us get this right.Ward

Dan will be on tour with PW next year for the Power of Metal Tour in Europe Feb/March 2011.
The circle is now complete. All 5 original band members.

Gut, dass sie nicht gleich auf Headlinertournee kommen, war ja klar – da kommen 30 Leute am Abend. Aber Nevermore, Jungs, bitte….
Die Tour ist so gut wie gelaufen und ich war nicht dabei … keine Zeit u. kein Geld … allerdings ist es dank der Tour endlich möglich alle Alben der Band als Vinyl zu kaufen.
Century Media veröffentlichen den kompletten Backkatalog auf Vinyl ab dem 18.03.11 … sehr schön!--
