In addition to the Joy CD, the Joy Box will include ten individual Limited Edition posters designed for each of the album’s 10 songs, a second album entitled Party Time, which includes demos, soundcheck and studio outtakes and a DVD capturing live performances from the first half of Phish’s summer 2009 tour – including footage from the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and the tour’s opening dates at Fenway Park in Boston.

We expect the Joy Box to be available in early October, but you can pre-order today. Since this box will not ship until after the album’s release date, everyone who pre-orders the Joy Box will receive a free MP3 download of the entire album (10 tracks) on the September 8th release date.

mhm, der link geht nicht mehr, sie passen wohl grade den preis an. wird sicher nicht billig. aber mann, das klingt verlocken, mit den Bonus Cds kriegen sie mich immer, und die DVD hört sich auch nicht übel an

Joy, Phish’s eleventh studio album, and first in five years is available for pre-order now at Phish Dry Goods and will be in stores September 8th. Joy is available on CD, and also as part of the Joy Box, a Limited Edition deluxe version. We’re also pressing the album on 180g Vinyl, for people who understand what that means.

mhm, ich überlege noch, ob ichs mir aus den USA mitbringen lassen soll. Selbst mit deutlich weniger Porto und (hoffentlich) ohne Zoll ist 75 Dollar einfach extrem überteuert. Man hätte ja auch für 20-25 Dollar eine Version ohne Box und Poster und dafür mit Bonus CD und DVD herausbringen können.

Für mich haben sie es schon gemacht, mit Billy Breathes. Was meint ihr?

Wie ist denn eigentlich eure Meinung zu der Platte?
So richtig gefallen tun mir eigentlich nur die ersten drei und Ocelot. Light und 20 Years Later sind gute Songs, aber ich habe nicht das Gefühl, dass sie hier die definitiven Versionen eingefangen haben.

Dazu muss ich sagen, dass ich die Kompositionen von Page und Mike beide unterirdsch finde. I Been Around wäre live solo am Piano ganz nett, aber so… Und Sugar Shack beginnt ja ganz funky, aber der Refrain ist furchtbar. Ich werde mit Mikes songwriting nie warm werden.

Mit Sugar Shack tu ich mich bisher auch schwer, ich finde Mike´s Sangesdarbietung auch ziemlich schwach, aber naja. Seine Countrynummern finde ich eigentlich alle sehr gut, er ist halt irgendwie der Mann für´s Obskure.
