Zur Zeit der Aufnahme war er noch keine 30 Jahre alt, klingt aber wie ein selbstverlorener, alter Mann.

Eine Aufrundung auf ****1/2 erscheint mir angemessen.

Ich habe das Album heute gehört.
Wie „On The Beach“ ein ungemein glaubwürdiges, aber spezielles Album. Musikalisch zwar weniger kohärent, in seiner schonungslosen Ehrlichkeit dafür aber fast noch konsequenter.

Die Vergleiche mit „After The Goldrush“ kann ich so nicht nachvollziehen. Dazwischen liegen für mich Welten.

Weil man so berührende Alben nicht jeden Tag ganz zu schweigen als Hintergrundmusik hören kann? [Obwohl es in meiner All Time Top 10 ist, höre ich es im Vergleich auch relativ selten, dazu eigentlich nie am Tag]
