Mich hat Rateliff schwer erwischt. Die Stimme machts und seine Geschichten. Tolles Album. Besonders gefallen mir YOU SHOULD’VE SEEN THE OTHER GUY, SHROUD, HAPPY JUST TO BE, A LAMB ON THE STONE und BRAKEMAN. Am schönsten ist Rateliff immer dann, wenn er sich ganz auf seine Stimme verlässt und die musikalische Begleitung nicht mehr als zarte Pastelltupfer bleiben. Kann sein, dass es eines dieser Alben ist, die ihren bestimmten Tageszeitpunkt brauchen, um zu blühen.

Gestern Abend bei Freunden das erste Mal gehört. Kannte auch nur die Single. Doch, es gefiel durchaus gut. Hab es mal mitgenommen und werde es in Ruhe nochmal anhören. Ein oder zwei Songs erinnerten mich an Marvin Gaye.
