schussrichtungWie hörst Du die Neue relativ frisch im Vergleich zum Vorgänger? Wir hatten es damals mal darüber.
Die Erwartung, „Seldom Seen Kid“ nochmal zu erreichen oder gar zu übertreffen, wäre vermessen gewesen. Das ist aber auch gar nicht so sehr mein Maßstab. Tatsächlich ist es Elbow gelungen, mich ein weiteres Mal nicht zu enttäuschen, im Gegenteil, nach wie vor finde ich die Band spannend; und wie ich im Album-Thread schon schrieb, kann ich mich an keinen Künstler erinnern, der kontinuierlich so ein Niveau abliefert. Mir imponiert der Ansatz, sich selbst zu fragen, was sie als nächstes hören wollen – so befreit man sich von der Erwartung der Branche, Kollegen und Fans, bleibt sich selbst treu und schafft doch was Anderes. Das Ergebnis aus Reduktion und Tiefgang, Hingabe und Distanz imponiert mir ebenfalls. Du merkst: Ich bin angetan. Mal schauen, welche Nuancen sich noch ergeben. Hast Du schon reingehört?

Ja, bisher zwei Durchläufe. Bereue die Ausgabe keineswegs, für weiteres muss das Album noch etwas sacken. Strebe die Tage auch einen direkten Hörvergleich mit dem „Seldom seen kid“ an – „Build a rocket, boys!“ könnte mir sogar besser gefallen. Elbow scheinen aktuell weniger mit Gegensätzen (z.B. laut/leise) zu arbeiten, was sehr angenehm ist.
Wie gesagt, das ist ein erster Eindruck.--

Schade, ich finde es immer gut wenn man schon eine Remaster-Serie auflegt, diese auch durchgängig zu gestallten, egal ändert nichts an der hervorragenden Musik.
