Vielleicht ist The Coral die Band, die meine musikalischen Vorlieben über die Jahre am meisten geprägt hat. War mir bis vor einigen Tagen gar nicht so bewusst. Ich glaube ich habe mir das Debüt 2002 wegen einer Review im NME gekauft; weiß ich aber nicht mehr genau. Zumindest bin ich dank The Coral dann auf Love gestoßen. Deren Forever Changes ist zwar ganz anders, aber die Energie ist eine ähnliche.

Wenn ich richtig gelesen habe, hast du sie bisher zweimal gehört. Im SW-Thread kommt das Album ja nicht gerade großartig weg. Wie ist dein erster Eindruck zu diesem Werk?

Wenn ich richtig gelesen habe, hast du sie bisher zweimal gehört. Im SW-Thread kommt das Album ja nicht gerade großartig weg. Wie ist dein erster Eindruck zu diesem Werk?
Eine Mischung aus frühen Porcupine Tree und den letzten beiden Soloalben. Der erste Song (23 Minuten) enthält großartige Passagen, aber auch nervige Zwischenspiele und der zweite Track (19 Minuten) ist insgesamt schwächer, aber mit schönen akustischen Momenten und dann wieder mit Langeweile, wo einfach nichts passiert. Die großen Lobeshymnen, die zumeist in der Presse ausgesprochen wurden, kann ich nicht unterschreiben, aber besser als The Future Bites und The Harmony Codex höre ich es auf jeden Fall.
