The Incredible String Band – Changing Horses (1969) *** Bevor ich diese Box Sets hörte dachte ich, ich kenne mich in der (britischen) Pop Szene der frühen Siebziger gut aus. Weit gefehlt. Oft sagten mir nicht mal die Interpreten etwas. Sind aber einige „Schätzchen“ darunter.
** Die ISB und ich werden keine guten Freunde mehr. Allenfalls entfernte Bekannte, die sich ab und zu sehen, grüßen und dann reicht es mal wieder für die nächsten Jahre. Mir fehlen da einfach die „großen“ Melodien und auch der Gesang ist oft haarscharf an der Grenze des für mich erträglichen (oder darüber hinaus)

Da ich gerade auf dem Lou Reed-Trip bin, wie gefällt dir das Album? Gern auch im Vergleich zum Vorgänger und Nachfolger?
Das Album gefällt mir gut. Es hat für mich etwas mehr „Flow“ als „Rock And Roll Heart“, welches für mich auch ganz gut ist, aber irgendwie passen die Lieder nicht so zusammen wie auf der „Street Hassle“. Man könnte meinen, das die „Street Hassle“ die musikalische Fortsetzung von „Coney Island Baby“ ist. Zum Nachfolger kann ich nichts sagen, da mein nächstes Studioalbum von ihm die „New York“ ist. Und dieses ist für mich die beste Platte, die ich von ihm kenne (*****).

Das Album gefällt mir gut. Es hat für mich etwas mehr „Flow“ als „Rock And Roll Heart“, welches für mich auch ganz gut ist, aber irgendwie passen die Lieder nicht so zusammen wie auf der „Street Hassle“. Ich mag Street Hassle ebenfalls sehr und halte es für stärker als Rock and Roll Heart. Was die Alben zwischen diesem und dem großartigen New York betrifft, möchte ich dir besonders The Bells und vor allem The Blue Mask empfehlen.
